I live and work in Alatri, my native village.
I learned painting by myself and by instinct in love with art, attracted and fascinated by everything about me: not only the alleys of my little town, its churches, its main doors, but also the faces of its people, their attitudes or the ordinary gestures of the reality in which I move and work.
I have a close eye for catching both the most definite tints and the most hidden: from the red of a sunset, the whiteness of a snowy landscape, the glistening of waters reflecting solitary boats to a clown’s gaze or the typical attitude in my “ciociare”, acknowledged protagonists in everyday scenes of life deeply rooted in the tradition.
I produce authentic and spontaneous works of art, true flashes of inspiration reflecting both my personality and inner life without leaving apart my studies around the use and technique of colours, in a continuous research of a stylistic definition as much suitable to my mood as possible.
The subjects I paint, from natural landscapes or urban foreshortenings to portraits, are real snapshots from my soul, that suggests tints and guides my brushworks: the stateliness of an oak, the brightness of a field where yellow colours harmonize with red ones, the pureness in the simple face of a “ciociara” or the gloomy smile of a clown who hides behind his mask both his endless sadness and ours.
I love all my paintings. There is the portrait of a moment in each of them, an instant of my life that will live on forever….
